The Los Angeles Philharmonic selected THE_GROOP was selected to create a media rich website experience honoring Esa-Pekka Salonen in his final year as the organization’s Music Director. The main priority was to commemorate the innovative and visionary style that Salonen brought to the orchestral world and to the Los Angeles cultural scene. We created an unconventional timeline structure that illustrates Salonen’s innovative spirit and the collaborative feel of the site was designed with his music philosophy in mind — that it should be fluid, expressive, and most importantly, open to and enjoyed by all.
